Routine maintenance for home computers is just as essential as it would be in the workplace.

Firstly your PC should be kept free from dust and fluff which clogs up air vents and cooling fans which is something you can deal with yourself with a small paintbrush and a vacuum cleaner. Give the screen and keyboard a regular wipe with antibac type wipes too and never use furniture polish which often contain waxes.

With the increase of viruses and malware, computers need to be kept up to date with the very latest operating systems and software & security patches. Our cost effective home maintenance visit, will get your machine into the best of health, with a 30 point check-up and professional security and firewall test we will ensure you are safe and secure, plus you will also get access to our FREE remote support package.

We recommend : CCLEANER

Rather than replace your home computer, consider the benefits of an upgrade. Not only is it more friendly for the environment, it will cost much less than a new machine, plus you don’t risk misplacing any of your precious information and data.

We can help you add additional memory which will get things running quicker and also add hard drive storage capacity which will help prolong the lifespan of the computer itself.

If you want to upgrade, we can recommend products from a variety of manufacturers (*we do not resell computers to the domestic market, but will show you where to go for the best deals!) and of course we can set up your new hardware and copy over all of your information and settings to get you up and running in no time.

GREAT TIP: Computer processors give off lots of heat as a bi-product of performance. Simply making sure that the rear and side vents are free of dust & debris will allow your computer to breath better and therefore run cooler.

We suggest: Placing laptops on a flat hard surface to allow air to flow underneath, plus regular vacuuming of vents and fan surrounds on PC’s.

GREAT TIP: Before attempting anything new on your PC or Laptop, remember to make sure you create a restore point as this will prove highly valuable if you mess things up or accidently delete stuff.

Restore Points: Like time travel but for computers.

For everything from a broken laptop screen to a damaged hard drive, if it needs repairing or replacing then we have the skills necessary to carry out most repairs in your own home or in our workshop here in Barton.

Repairs are usually completed within 24 hours although we do offer same day service for many repairs when time allows. All repairs come with a 2 year warranty and we offer local collection and return.

GREAT TIP: Keep your keyboard and mouse free from germs, use antibacterial wipes to remove dirt and grime from your keys and mouse buttons. These types of wipes are also great at lifting dust from around your computer desk and monitor stand etc.

Scratched Screen:Use a little white toothpaste on a soft cloth and rub lightly in circles to polish out those small scratches.

Security algorithms are one of our core specialities, we like to hunt down and kill virus and malware infections and tackle ransomware and cryptographically challenging puzzles in-fact we have built up quite a collection over the years.

If your PC gets infected, simply turn it off at the mains and give us a call. Never pay a ransom, never call a helpline number displayed on your screen (this is usually a scam) and never ever share personal details or passwords. Remember to always update both your computers operating system and your anti-virus program and keep different and complex passwords for every account you have online.

GREAT TIP: If your password could be found in a dictionary or book of baby names then it’s unsafe as it can be cracked in less than the time it takes to read this. Change your passwords so they contain a mix of UPPER & lower case letters and include Numbers and Special characters too.

We offer a range of fixed price servicing, all of which includes our unique 30 point PC check and ALL backed by a FREE ONE YEAR service agreement and also includes FREE REMOTE SUPPORT.

We are well known locally as both the friendliest and most knowledgeable when it comes to computer and communication platform care which is why our reputation really matters to us and why we simply choose not to advertise our residential services anymore.     You only pay if we fix the problem we are called upon to fix. Excludes hardware repair and special order items. You will be asked to provide details of errors prior to the instigation of the remote support session, you will retain control of your PC at all times. NEVER share USERNAME OR PASSWORDS via email or chat.

    Suitability

    Relates to software & utilities setup and settings, plus hardware fault determination, but not physical hardware repair (Now that would be a neat trick). Virus & Malware Removal, Resolving issues with device drivers, operating system, email, internet browser, router settings, firewall, port forwarding etc. Computers must be connected to a working internet connection to receive updates etc.

    We continuously monitor system errors and system logs via our own remote support software and will report via email anything that warrants your immediate attention. ONCE a month we will check to ensure your computer is running the latest operating system and security updates. This process is automated and we do not have access to any files / folders or personal information. All data transmitted between our server and your computer is AES 256 BIT encrypted.

    We continuously monitor system errors and system logs via our own remote support software and will report via email anything that warrants your immediate attention. Twice a month we will check to ensure your computer is running with the latest operating system and security updates plus we will instigate a remote backup to your own media if present. This process is automated and we do not have access to any files / folders or personal information. All data transmitted between our server and your computer is AES 256 BIT encrypted.

    We continuously monitor system errors and system logs via our own remote support software and will report via email anything that warrants your immediate attention. Four times a month we will check to ensure your computer is running with the latest operating system and security updates plus we will instigate a remote backup to your own media if present. This process is automated and we do not have access to any files / folders or personal information. All data transmitted between our server and your computer is AES 256 BIT encrypted.

    Fairness

    Our promise is that if you are fair with us we will be more than fair with you. In essence this means that you won’t instigate remote support sessions for problems that you could easily resolve yourself (ie paperjam in printer, opening a word document or google search terms) and we will be on hand to resolve all the other issues that crop up from time to time. If we need to visit to resolve an issue then we will not charge a call out or booking fee and quick visits locally are never charged for.
